Map the places you actually use
Start with your own priorities: work, the people you visit, outdoor activities and regular errands. Test the routes at the times you expect to travel. A neighborhood name is only a starting point; the specific street and property matter.
Explore at a human pace
Walk a few blocks, visit local shops and spend time in public spaces. Return at a different time of day where practical. Consider access, parking, noise and the way the home connects with its surroundings, using your own observations and current information.
Build a focused first visit
Share your timing, must-haves and open questions with your advisor before travelling. A small, well-planned set of visits often gives you more to work with than a rushed tour of every area. Keep room in the schedule to revisit the strongest possibilities.
